You will love to make and eat my secret salad dressing. So skip the store-bought dressing with this easy and delicious recipe. When you make salad dressings at home, you can control what ingredients go into your dressing. Homemade always tastes better!
This dressing is great with any leafy-based salad. All you have to do is mix your ingredients in a jar. I always enjoy having my guests try to guess the ingredients. So far nobody has got it right; that’s why I call it my secret salad dressing.

What Is My Secret Salad Dressing Made Of?
All you need are a handful of basic pantry ingredients (and no more than five minutes) to make this dressing. Here’s what you’ll need, no preservatives here!
- Extra-virgin olive oil
- Soy sauce
- Apple cider vinegar
- Lemon juice
- Frozen concentrated orange juice
- Dijon mustard
Measure all of the ingredients into a jar, and whisk to combine. Taste the dressing and adjust the seasoning as needed. If the dressing is too thick, you can add a little more olive oil or vinegar to thin it out. If the dressing is too tart, you can add a little more oil or a pinch of sugar to balance the flavor. Once the dressing is to your liking, it is ready to be served.
I highly recommend doubling or tripling the recipe and storing the leftovers in the fridge.
How long Do Homemade Salad Dressings last?
This recipe makes about one cup of dressing—enough to last for a few days of salads.
The dressing can be kept refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
