Chocolate Cake in A Mug

Chocolate Cake in A Mug with a spoon in it

For even the most fierce bakers, there comes a time when you simply can’t imagine putting in the effort to prepare an elaborate dessert. This Chocolate Cake in A Cup is the perfect recipe for a quick and easy sugar fix. You’ll satisfy that craving without ruining your diet for the week. It’s also an easy and fun dessert to make with kids. It takes minutes to bake in the microwave, and I love a good shortcut! It is best to use a ceramic mug that is 12- to 14- ounces (make sure it is microwave safe).

Instructions

  • In the mug, mix the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and baking powder.

  • Add the wet mixture to the dry mixture and mix thoroughly until well combined.
  • Place the mug in the microwave and “cook” on high for about 2 ½ – 3 minutes, depending on your microwave brand (I suggest stopping the microwave after two minutes to check doneness).
